About Us
Hi, my name is Elya
And I am a Birth Doula! In my work I accompany mothers and their partners in the birth process and in their beginning of parenthood. I attend each of my meetings with a mother with a sense of obligation and mission, making myself available to her and providing her with all the tools at my disposal for a calm and pleasant birth experience. My starting point is by having a complete faith in the woman in front of me, in her knowledge of her body, of her pregnancy and of her baby. I believe that every mother inherently knows what is the right way for her to give birth. Sometimes, she just needs a supportive and empowering environment in order for her to reconnect with this knowledge.
I am a professional presence that connects you during labor with the birthing wishes you expressed before the birth. I am a presence strengthening your inherent abilities.
As your Doula my responsibility is to prepare you for the whole spectrum of what labor can actually be and provide you with the tools to make sure your needs are met.
And, not leaving anything to chance, I have partnered with a team of experienced doulas who share the same values philosophy and availability and can transition seamlessly should the need arise.
My way to becoming a doula began…
when my sister learned she was pregnant with her first child; We were both thrilled and terrified by the news. She was overcome with joy but at the same time feared the challenges, both physical and emotional that would take place over the next nine months. The scariest- the day of the delivery and for all to go well.
I have since assisted my sister with the birth of her three kids and went through my own countless unsuccessful natural attempts to conceive, five unsuccessful IVF fertility procedures and at last a Successful twin pregnancy.
Soon enough, I came to realize the direct link between centering the mother baby, the family, making sure they receive respectful care during pregnancy, labour and birth and a positive birthing experience.
These experiences only confirmed what I knew was my calling - the true desire to support expectant mothers and their partners through this extraordinary, unparalleled, miraculous journey.
About Ronit
I fell in love with the birth world and wanted to be a doula ever since I had my first of 7 children. My labor lasted 18 hours and was an unmedicated, natural delivery that I couldn't have done without my wonderful doula.
When my youngest son was old enough, after running my home daycare for 16 years, I took my first of several doula training workshops.
I am certified CD(DONA) and by MBC, and have been supporting women in hospitals all over Montreal since.
